It does work, and work fairly well.  Its probably no slower than any 
other remote console (VNC or PCAnywhere).  The only problem you have is 
that the VMware session goes down if the connection is lost.  If you can 
live with that, then it should work well.

I've even used it with VPN -> OFFICE -> HOST, and it worked, slowly, but 
it did work.
