There ain't no such animal as a 'typical' project - they run the gamut from
benignly neglected free-for-alls to lead developers that make Atilla the Hun
look like a flaming liberal.

How to contribute?  I'd venture to say 80%+ of projects need non-programmers
to write documentation.
