I broke my xmms player today and I have no idea how I did it. XMMS will 
open but when I try to play a file that I know it will play it gives me 
an error message

1. you have the correct output plugin selected
2.no other program is blocking the soundcard
3.your soundcard is configured properly

If I go into yast and uninstall the soundcard and reinstall it xmms will 
work fine until I logout. When I log back it's the same problem all over 
again everyday.

How do I check and see if there is another program loading in the 
background that might be taking control of the xmms driver or program
Where is the output driver stored (I know the output driver is correct 
because another linux box has the same thing and it works great.
