[NTLUG:Discuss] RFC: Sound Editors

what recommendations for sound/audio editors would have?  i want to take about 3-4 hrs of 
saved .mp3 stream and slice it up to put on multiple cds, as a single cd only holds 80 
mins of sound.  To be able to play in a home cd player and have it work (.cca file or 
somesuch?).

i've done a little bit of googlin' on this and there are many editors out there.  any 
experts with words of wisdom and a recommendation for what software would work best for 
this application?
