If you got past the subject line maybe you can help I'm trying to setup
fedora core2 and postfix to use smtp auth. I am failing miserably and I
know there has to be something that they have done to break it and I'm
looking to make it work. Currently my hangup is that whenever I run the
client it connects and I recieve a message in the maillog file about
warning: SASL authentication failure: cannot connect to saslauthd server: No
such file or directory
When I try and 'echo 1 > /var/run/saslauthd/mux' I recieve the error '-bash:
/var/run/saslauthd/mux: No such device or address'
Running strace shows that it creates the file as a socket but running 'lsof
| grep saslauthd' && 'netstat | grep saslauthd' returns no file. I'm at a
standstill right now with this and I would really like to get this working
instead of the drac auth I have at the moment.
