Google's getting into email.  When they annnounced it on April 1, lots
of people thought it was a joke--Google said they were offering 1GB
storage per user.  But it wasn't a joke.  Yahoo and Hotmail, along with
lots of other webmail providers, have had to raise their limits in
response.  Gmail offers Google searches of your email.  Instead of
filing your email, you just build up an email database, and search it
like you search the Internet using Google.  Google makes money by having
keyword-based ads on the right hand side of the Gmail interface, just
like with Google.  Right now the only way to get an account is to get an
invite.
