I did that in '98. I was not happy to find out that I had to have win2k 
in my house for school. My long safety in Linux has atrophied my proper 
level of paranoia when in windoze, hence my unfortunate mistake.

I am in Linux now and usually am. I try to check my mail from linux 
always, but I wasn't when I clicked where I shouldn't have.
I need to dual-boot(yes that s*x)into win2kpro just for class. It needs 
IE and powerpoint, it wont even run in win32-Mozilla, only IE, so the 
option you sugguest Steve, is not an option.

I was at another class tonight and received a call from my neighboor, 
who I share a connection with, informing me that my computer was using 
all the bandwidth(3Mbit cable), I told him to remove it from the switch 
till I got home. I could find nothing suspicious using the process 
viewer in win2k. I am worried that I now have a trojan on board my 
win2k. Does anyone have some useful advice?
