You might want to try some different DSL providers. The first couple I
approached here in Cedar Hill swore up and down that I was outside the
service area - but I checked the distance on a map and I was comfortably
inside the area.
Eventually, I called SWBell and they said I could get DSL with no problems.
When I called back to a couple of the other (cheaper) providers - who are
only leasing the service from SWBell afterall, they said that sometimes
SWBell tried to lock them out of getting customers by providing them
an inaccurate database of who was and was not in range.
I suspect the truth is more that these other guys have outdated databases - but
who knows?
