Did you have DSL service with the Alcatel modem at a different location?
If so, you can't assume the service you're using now uses Alcatel equipment
in the CO. Is that the modem Bell South sent you to use where you are now?
Knowing that will make a big difference in how you get answered because it
may not work at all across the telco network, even though it may work fine
to your computer.

I am having trouble in trying to make the Alcatel speed touch USB DSL
modem work with Bell South service here in georgia.
I am running it a Fedora 2 and have installed the drivers and running
DSL manager in Fedora2.
I am giving it /dev/usb/ttyUSBx for device; I do not show any ACMx as
many mails seem to suggest.
It works fine on the win98 partition.
Any help will be appreciated.

Desperately
Pervaz Alaudin
