[NTLUG:Discuss] Moving email messages

Howdy,
  I have a mail server where email messages are segregated for the users
into 2 separate email boxes.  The user has to log into both to get all
their messages.  I would like to move messages from one mailbox(call it
fred-l) to the other mailbox(call it fred).  I envision a program that
is passed a list of message numbers and these messages would be moved.

  Is this an bad thing to do for any reason I don't see?

  Is there an obvious tool to do this with?  If not, I was thinking of
just connecting to the mail server and reading from the fred-l mailbox. 
Then I was going to append this to the end of the fred mailbox.

  If this is not something quick, I would be interested in finding
someone who has done something like this before.  I think we could
arrange a short contract.
