The key is to _be_current_.

A MSCE on NT 4.0 doesn't get far, but a MCSE on 2000 or, better yet,
2003, with all those useless "specialties" -- Golden.

When I interviewed with Microsoft, it came up.  They asked me why I
would get all those certs "only to not take full advantage of them with
the clients."

I told them I _was_ taking "full advantage of them with the clients."
That I knew the products to the level of 'expertise' that Microsoft
expected and they don't act how the textbook reads.
