No, wikis can work fine even if people don't agree -- the site admin/policies
should make it clear that where there is disagreement that both (or all)
points of view can be fairly presented on the wiki.  

Mailing lists and bulletin boards also suffer from problems when people
don't agree; they're often called "flame wars" and they also interfere
with communications.  (See, for example, the recent "discussion" on this
mailing list regarding software engineers.  1/2 :-)
