I wouldn't remove her name as a change in and of
itself, but if you have an occasion to be making other
changes, you might consider removing it from the
visible page and moving it to hidden headerspace if
having it visible is causing more frustration than its
worth.. That way, anyone  really curious about the
page could find it. 

Alternatively, you may put up a credits page that does
a chronology of site ownership.  School sites are new,
but very likely to have this problem (respect for
posterity.) an exaample of this is a chat site i
visit. (www.texasirc.com) Altho I'm not recommending
leaving it on the main page as on the IRC page.. just
give credit (limited by a date) to those who came
before you.
