Yikes!  I guess that would make it simple to decide what to do: wait
until the new systems are hacked and then proceed accordingly.

How can they make the older HDTV systems obsolete, since those systems
have been sold to people for several years?  Won't the anger of
frustrated consumers/voters make that impossible?

What a mess!
