Robert Pearson has what I consider important questions about the
security of running M$ IE on Linux via Crossover/VMWare/etc. Not
intending to hijack his thread:

I currently do my taxes via M$ s/w (such as TurboTax). The plan
for the next one is to run a minimal M$ configuration on top of
VMWare. If it turns out that there are genuine security issues
still present when running on VMWare, I will need to change my
strategy. Perhaps just build a tax-time bootable partition.

Again, please don't takeover this thread with solutions on how to
do taxes with Linux. I am just mentioning why I'm interested in
knowing the security risk potential that Robert is asking about.
And yes, I've heard about web-based tax filing. I prefer not to
go that route. I'm still on dial-up and when on the 'net, my
phone is busy (too frugal to pay for call-waiting).
