[NTLUG:Discuss] Big Files and Apache

Greetings.
I have SuSE 9.1 Pro, running in (mostly) default configuration. Apache
is installed, and serving files and webpages from the Users' public_html
files. Where things get strange is with a couple of files that were put
in the public_html directory for download on the LAN. (Easy way to
transfer from Linux to anything else w/o setting up/configuring Samba).
The files in question are extension .vhc & .vmc, but do NOT show up as
available for download. One file (the first one listed by "ls -l), is
over 3GB in size. When that file is in the directory, Apache will not
serve up the contents of the directory, and it appears empty in the
browser. When the file is moved to another directory, the rest of the
directory contents are now available.
What is up with this?
Regards,
Steve
