Well, now, that's a very interesting property of Konq that I wasn't 
aware of.  Not only can it do TGZ, but also ZIP files.  I don't 
immediatly see where/how it does it, but it must expand them out 
somewhere.  It works quite well in fact.  Well, if you don't count:

not exist

:-)  That's with KDE 3.3 on a Suse 9.2 system.  But it works!!!

Thanks Val!  A nice suprise to find I already have the software on my 
system.
