How does one configure GnomeMeeting?

I would like to play with GnomeMeeting under Knoppix 3.6, Hack #19:

However, whenever I try GnomeMeeting, it complains that I need to 
configure my soundcard.  My sound card is configured, at least, I think 
it is.  When I tested the sound as described under Hack #7, it played 
the nice KDE startup sound:

Any idea why GnomeMeeting won't start?
