[NTLUG:Discuss] Dire Help!! - How to 'Force' a filecopy that has I/O errors in Linux?

Guys,

Am trying to help a friend that has a crash(ing) hard-drive - there's a
30mb database file that when I try to copy (using a Knoppix rescue disk)
to another hard-drive, it says it has reading I/O errors (which I
expected)..but stops at 192Kb and says "padding with 0's".

Ok, I realize/agree that there are I/O errors, but how can I capture as
much of this 30MB file as I can (not just the first 192Kb before the
first error)?!?

Thanks in advance,

Dave
