He's just a simpleton who chooses to ignore all the relevant facts.
Gates is not just some honest businessman that managed to win the
market over. He's been engaging in marginally legal activities since
long before someone like Rooney would have heard of him.

He never invented anything.

His flagship product is crap and always has been.

He just exploited an incredible stroke of luck.

The rest has been mass theivery.

...as did ANYone else that wasn't associated with the trademark of
the previous computing monopoly.

Rooney's position is utter bullsh*t.

Take any point in time and all of Microsoft's competitors have been
better. It's never been about "better". It's only been about what could
survive in a marketplace dominated by an entrenched monopoly.

If I still had my old copy of MS-DOS 5, I would be very tempted to
bludgeon that old crackpot with it.
