I want to try and use my home directory mounted off of a remote system
( remote
to my linux box, local to my private, network ) and see how that works.
I set up
samba on the remote box and the local box and set up my /etc/passwd file
to use
the remote directory, but I could not get logged in. Redhat/Gnome wanted
some lock
files or something like that set up when you logged in that didn't seem
to work over
samba.
Has anyone looked at this and got it to work?
