I have gone to the "flipped ATX" case designs that put the CPUs lowest,
and the AGP/PCI/PCIe cards "facing upward."
Such cases include the all aluminum Lian Li PC-V1000 (ATX) and PC-V1200
(EATX, I personally own) as well cheaper, aluminum front-only (steel
elsewhere) SilverStone Tek TJ-06.
The Lian Li cools HDs better and is lighter, but the TJ-06 has a 120mm
in to 120mm out "wind tunnel" for the CPU. Both are _much_better_ than
traditional ATX cases where the CPU is "high" and the AGP/PCI/PCIe cards
"face downward" (trapping heat).
That's why you're starting to see these video cards with the "heat pipe"
to the "back" where the fan blows "upward" in a traditional ATX case.
