The testing (sarge) branch of Debian is getting close to release. It's
installer is much easier to use than the one included with woody. I
suggest you grab the rc2 netinstall image from=>

boot.http://cdimage.debian.org/pub/cdimage-testing/sarge_d-i/i386/rc2/sarge-i386-netinst.iso

Use that as the starting point. There should be an installation guide
included on the CD. If not, there is an installation HOWTO at=>

http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.i386/apa.html

After you get sarge installed, add "unstable" pointers
to /etc/apt/sources.list (replicate the "testing/sarge" stanza and
replace with "unstable"). Then do =>

apt-get update
apt-get -u dist-upgrade

And watch.
