I just upgraded my dual-athlon server from a GeFORCE Ti4200 to a GF 6800
GT. Incredible difference both in 2D and 3D. I'm throwing High Quality
settings at 1600x1200 in Doom3 Native and Half Life 2 over Transgaming's
Cedega 4.2 and not seeing any slow down (60 fps). I've been waiting
months to get that card at cost at Comp. Well worth it.
I am also amazed now that I can play the very latest windows games without
a problem on linux (doom3 & hl2; Max Payne2 next) (I dare say with fewer
problems than the windows' people experience!)
By contrast, the Radeon 9600 I have in my htpc has been a RPITA - and slow
- on linux!
Kyle
