At this point, I'm beginning to suspect a virus. I've never heard of
Adware/spyware that did those sorts of things.
That would be a good bet, although lately, here at school I have seen
adware/spyware doing some pretty weird stuff.
So this brings me to my question. Her computer has gotten loaded down
with
Ad/spyware several times...is that an issue with Linux? I know you can
restrict cookies that might be considered spyware tracking your
movements...but what about data miners, etc? Is Linux currently (I say
currently because as Linux gets more press and wide use, I'm sure
they'll
find ways to exploit it too) protected from that sore of thing? Is
there
any issue with that I should be aware of?
Thanks,
L. Wayne Dahl
I have never seen ad/spy ware as an issue with Linux. Most ad/spy ware
is a program of some sort, which means the proper stuff must be there
for it to work, or it must install it as it installs itself. I would
say that Linux has no ad/spy ware problems at this time. Peace, Dennis,

Cowboys. Not those other guys)
