[NTLUG:Discuss] Slightly OT: OOo on MDK

This happened to me four times on three different Intel based machines 
(2 laptops, and 1 desktop), all running Mandrake 9.1 with the OpenOffice 
that came with the install (1.0).  Each time, everything goes along fine 
for a while and then finally one day OpenOffice will not launch.  My 
solution so far, in each case, has been to install OpenOffice 1.1 
(currently 1.1.4).  But that still leaves me with the question:  What's 
up with that?  Thank you in advance for any help or insight you may be 
able to offer.

PS:  I don't run MDK 10.0 because its support for touch pads just isn't 
right, but I have 10.1 coming and I'll try that when it gets here.  Has 
anyone seen a similar OOo problem on MDK 10.x?
