[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux on the PDA

Never used Palm OS except in passing at a Electronics Store counter so about
the only thing I can offer is my experience working with linux on the ipaq
3835. I ran it a few years ago and loved it. All the packages were easy to
work with and there was a lot of software to choose from including software
that worked with my pharos gps. The only reason I quit running it was it
lacked a good direct to mp3 audio recorder and I wanted a higher resolution
screen. I now use an e805 for which linux is not quite ready for prime time
although spyro has made huge strides. I hope to get it installed on my e805
as soon as something is available that supports built in high res video, and
the pcmcia chip.

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Linux on the PDA

I have been reading on PDA's with Linux OS namely the Sharp Zaurus and
several other models. I also did some looking into the iPaq loaded with
Linux. Has anyone had experience with Linux on the PDA? How does it
compare to Palm OS on the Linux desktop?

In seeing the screen shots, it looks very cool!

Ever trying to eliminate M$ from my world!
