woops! I forgot about that step. I just tried it right now - I'm using
the
Adobe Acrobat Reader 7.0 beta, and I'm not having any problem editing the
form and printing straight to a printer with the result, but my previous
acroread ver.5.0.10 doesn't seem to have any problem either.

(For anyone who hasn't signed up for the Adobe beta program, 7.0 is a big
step up. gtk-based, slick, and lots of new features.)

One new feature is form data import. The 1040 form allows import from a
form
data file (text, xml, fdf, or xfdf). I just tried it now and looks pretty
easy.
I'm going to ask the OpenTaxSolver developers about that. Soon we will
have a
method to automatically generate the form!
