[NTLUG:Discuss] Postfix Spam Blocking

I use ASK as my challenge/response system, when I installed it I took 30
gigs of old email and stripped out the from line and added it to the
whitelist. That fixed most of the people I've talked with over the last
couple of years.
So folks don't like responding to the challenge and refuse to reply, oh
well, I guess it does not matter to them, so I don't worry about it. If
they really want to talk to me they will at some point reply or if they
are confused they will call me by voice. I have had that happen, and I
add them to the whitelist manually, no big deal. I do scan the blocked
email once in a while if I am expecting something, it's easy enough to
do and I can quickly add someone to the whitelist or blacklist if I want
to.
It's not foolproof, sometimes a spammer actually response to the
challenge, and I have to manually add them to the blacklist but for the
most part it works well.
Still overall it's the best answer that I've found to date.
Cheers,
David
