I will be demoing environmental monitoring with Linux at the Fair, this
includes both indoor and outdoor sensing.
One of the pieces of sensing hardware I plan to demo is a wind sensor
(internal temp sensor, wind-vane and aneometer), however I would rather
not have to haul myself up to the roof to pull it down, and then put it
back up again. Instead, I would like to purchase one or two kits for
display at the fair, and offer to sell at cost ($112 = kit price + tax +
shipping and handling) to someone at the fair. I know it sounds
expensive, but other kits cost anyware from $300 to several thousand, so
really it is a great value for the price.
If anyone is interested please let me know, as a added value, I can
assemble and test the kit before delivering it.
If I can get two people to respond, I can have one already built and
operational, and one opened up so people can see what makes it work.
Others who would rather purchase the kit from the manufacuter can buy
them from www.aag.com.mx. Just be aware that you will need to have
cookies enabled for this web site, and payments will go thorough Paypal
(no account needed). Also remember that there is some assembly required.
You can also purchase the same wind sensor from Texas Weather
Instruments at www.texasweather.com. I believe that these are fully
assembled (not really sure), but they also cost more than twice as much.
If anyone is interested, please let me know directly.
Thanks,
Stephen Klein
