Thanks for the input about the K6-2/500. It really will not
run 'later' systems, nor will it run some of the arcade games
that are packaged with Mandrake 9. It will not run Win XP,
either, but it will run W98. It is just an antique that I
have spent way too much time on. It is a nice web browser and
email client and tonight I will find out if it will run the
latest wine and, if so, it will run Quicken. At that point it
will be good enough for several people that I know who would
love to have a computer. (Yes, I know about gnucash, but they
don't)
