[NTLUG:Discuss] Ubuntu and the Airport Extreme

I am using Ubuntu on x86 and x86_64. There has been a number of notes
coming across the Ubuntu mailing list (They do not separate PPC and
Intel/AMD) so there may be a fix discussed in the User's list, or there
may be something on the Wiki. That is all the help I have. Peace,
Dennis in Victoria

Subject: [NTLUG:Discuss] Ubuntu and the Airport Extreme

All,

Anyone using Ubuntu with their Powerbooks (I just installed it)?
Everything's cool, dual boot and everything... except, I can't get the
Airport Extreme working and I hate to drag cat5 around. I googled and
everything seemed to indicate that Qualcomm hadn't 'opened' their spec.
Ubuntu is somewhat religious about Open, for instance, you have to
install your own choice of JDK because their isn't a 'free'
implementation that the Ubuntu guys/gals are comfortable with. Ubuntu is

Debian based so, I would guess that a Debian PPC driver for Airport
would work...

Suggestions and comments appreciated.

Thanks,

Will
