That's a pretty open ended question, it mostly depends on your
printing needs. In general terms just make sure there are drivers and
you should be good to go. For instance, do not buy a Minolta PagePro
1100L laser printer because there are apparently no Linux drivers for
it. But that's the exception to the rule. There are Linux drivers
for the vast majority of printers.

If you're interested in Ink Jet, beware that they are a lot more
expensive to run that Laser mainly because of the price of ink jet
cartridges and / or time and trouble to refill. But generally
speaking, Epson's line of Ink Jet printers are good, especially
because they don't gouge you on Cartridge prices and most are easily
refilled. Epson is as good if not better than, HP as far as I can
tell, you get as good a printer $ for $ but much better deal on
cartridges, (talking ink jet here).

If you refill your own cartridges, pick one that is easy to refill.
(Here again, I'm partial to Epson).

HP makes good Laser Jet printers, and I have no problem with most of
the HP laser printers. I prefer Epson over HP for Ink Jet printers
but like HP for Laser.

Other than that, I can't say, it really just depends on your needs.
