Not really.  There was a case involving Lexmark and a 3rd party ink 
refiller, but the 3rd party won.

Thankfully, the DMCA is being knocked back on a lot of fronts.  It is a 
bad law, and would have been a consideration for this kind of thing, but 
at the moment, it does not apply.
