Greetings, Fellow Penguinistas!
I am Keith Lofstrom, a fellow Linux user/developer from Beaverton,
Oregon, and I am in the Dallas area to visit relatives. After
visiting Third Saturday downtown, I plan to attend your meeting
Saturday, March 19 at 11AM at the Nokia site. I notice you do
not have a topic for your meeting yet.
I am currently leading an open source development project, the
Dirvish disk-to-disk backup program ( http://www.dirvish.org).
Written in Perl, and based on rsync, dirvish automates nightly
full-image backups. I have a 1.2 hour presentation on my laptop
and on my USB key, OpenOffice (and an inferior PPT) that I have
given at Portland area user groups and at Linuxfest Northwest.
If you wish, I can give the presentation Saturday. Alternatively,
I can sit down and shut up... :-)
Look at the dirvish site for more details, or at the Jan/Feb/Mar 2005
issues of Sys Admin magazine. I will check my email tonight, and if
it is urgent you can call me on my cell phone at 971-570-5542 .
Keith
