I've been a user of Debian since 1999 (Slackware for about 6 years
before that).  About 4-5 months ago I switched to Ubuntu Hoary (due to
be released in the next few weeks).   My opinion is that it's a fabulous
desktop OS.  It has all the things I love about Debian and none (or few)
of the things that are annoying about Debian.  I'd recommend it to
anyone.

FYI, the installation is very simple and it 'just works'.   I use it at
work and at home for my desktops.  I still have Debian on the servers.
