[NTLUG:Discuss] using good filesystems with Fedora Core

Howdy,
Someone asked a while back about how to install
Fedora Core 3 onto a better filesystem than ext3.
I replied with instructions on how it was supposed
to work, but said I had not tested it yet. Last
weekend, I did try it. Whatever was broken in
FC2 is still broken because it still does not work
in FC3. I used this feature in FC1, and I miss it.
You are supposed to be able to pass an option at
boot time to add support for jfs or xfs. If you
pass the option, then you do get the option to
create a partition with those filesystems. When
the installer starts to copy files to an xfs or
jfs filesystem, it always fails. Has anyone here
gotten this to work? If so, what was the trick?
