I've never had any real problems with cups, accept that a couple times
it "stopped" printing and I only had to go into GUI config and "start"
again.  And then, the printer was mysteriously just removed, and I
only had to designate printer driver etc. and all was ok again. (This
was on a couple slackware installs that I maintain for others, so I
have no idea how the above two incidents occurred, but both were
easily fixed.)  I have never had any problems out of any others.
