Howdy,
 Well, I rule out Mandrake 9.2 just because the risk you have to take as
to whether it will destroy your CD drive.  I realize you can install it
if you know that your drive is not made by LG, but if I am recommending
a distro, then I don't know an easy way to have people check for this.
LG produced OEM drives with a bunch of different brand names.  I tried
9.2 on a couple of test machines(an 810 based iPaq and a BX based
Thinkpad) and it did fine.  If it were not for the destruction of CD
drive issue(a biggy in my mind), I would recommend it over 9.1.  The
Mandrake 9.1 server I have does have an LG CD drive and so I never
upgraded it.
