Really? Isn't that a bit drastic? IIRC, the problem was identified and fixed
in a short timeframe. I'm sure every distro has had something like this
happen somewhere along their history. I'm not saying Mdk is the best
distro as I haven't tried that many recent-release ones myself. I've
actually had better luck with compat issues using Mdk 9.2 than Redhat
9.1(?) and Suse 8(?). I can't recall the exact versions but they were
less than a year old.

Anyway, to each his own...
