[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux solution for archiving MSN Groups?

Does anybody know of a Linux-based solution for archiving and/or
retrieving all messages from an MSN Groups forum?  I'm trying to
convince a group I'm involved with to wean themselves from MSN
Groups...the only problem is that we have several hundred threads that
need to be migrated to whatever new system we decide to go with.

I've tried the usual suspects (lynx, wget).  MSN does some weird
things with redirecting direct thread links through
login.passport.com, and I've been unable to use an existing cookies
file to convince the domain I've already been through the login
process.  I was thinking about digging out the Expect book and seeing
if there's a brute-force way to do this...think that would be worth my
time to explore?
