gschem is part of the gEDA package which has an iso for download and 
nifty graphical installer for linux.  gschem2xpcb and pcb are all part 
of the gEDA official tools.  There is a step by step tutorial for 
generating a schematic and then using the netlist from that to 
automatically place and ratsnest components.  Check it out at:
