[NTLUG:Discuss] libc.so.6 errors after FedoraCore4 Upgrade

Guys,

Need some help on this....workstation was running FC3 (upgraded from
FC2, etc, etc)...did an 'Upgrade Existing Installation' - after a
reboot, the network card wasn't auto-negotiating on DHCP.  Went to the
System-Config-Network app and told it to 'Active' the card - received
the following error:

dhclient:  error while loading shared libraries:
   libc.so.6:  cannont open shared object file:  Permission denied
failed.

Ok....did a find for 'libc.so.6' and found:

/lib/i686/nosegneg/libc.so.6
/lib/libc.so.6

both of these files are linked to a file/lib called 'libc-2.3.5.so'

[root at localhost /] ls-la /lib/libc.so.6
-rwxr-xr-x   1  root  root  1489572  May 30  07:05  /lib/libc-2.3.5.so

What am I missing/not doing??
