I seem to recall hearing about our desktop support guys being told to by
the network guys to not set the PCs to auto negotiate because it "caused
problems."  I assumed they were having the same issues we had with some
of our servers.

This has been a few years and I have slept since then, so my memory
could be quite fuzzy :).
