[NTLUG:Discuss] Linux distro with Thai font support

Thanks for the reply. I, too, bought a computer form Fry's with
ThizLinux. Like you, I was underwhelmed. It was a thinly disquised
Red Hat distro from Taiwan. It was alright to mess around with and
the computer is now my Smoothwall PC.
I spent a large part of yesterday and today looking for some way to
get a Linux distro to recognize Thai fonts. It turns out that there
are several versions of the fonts. On top of that, mapping the
keyboard seems to a be a challenge. The problem is that those PC's
are over there and not here.
I was hoping that I could find something that was already "assembled".
The Thai government got M$ mad at them when they underwrote the
development and distribution of PC's with Thai font recognition/use.
So when the South East Language module was released for XP, it no
longer included support that had previously been available with 95,
98, Me, NT, and 2000.
