i was made aware of an online bookstore which now has a physical
location in richardson - nerdbooks.com

it is strictly technical books from numerous disclipines, with a huge
selection (they claim 35,000 titles, and a large percentage of that is
at their store).  they also are open to hosting meetings for user
groups (they currently host the dfwuug (dallas ft worth unix users
group) and let it be known they would welcome other groups).  i seem
to remember ntlug was searching for a new location some time back; if
that is still the case, this is one additional option.

in any case, the bookstore is a genuine treasure trove of techincal
literature, along the same vein as microcenter's book department or
the technical bookstore that was on beltline near the tollway some
years back (i forget the name)
