As for the client's firewall blocking nfs... I'm pretty sure that I
have it disabled. It's the 9.1 box that I'm not sure of. I have ports
1110 and 2049 enabled (did a grep nfs /etc/services, used those ports
listed). Client says "Mount: RPC: Remote system error -- Connection
timed out" when I try to mount the directory.
Clue: The yast nfs client setup has a step that lets you look at all
the other puters in the network but the client (8.2) only sees
itself.
Yes, I have been reading the f.m. but no answers so far. I keep
smelling a rat right there at the wireless router but only because it
was cheap and from Fry's and because it is in the middle. I may hook
up a x-over cable to eliminate it... maybe it only passes what is
necessary for a windows environment.
