Given that Nvidia's support for such complex configuration is
2nd to none... I wish you well in finding your replacement.
Now... if you're willing to try Nvidia again, I can probably
help out. My dual Opeteron is currently running in 32bit
mode (for increased compatability... though I believe that
Nvidia support has greatly improved in the 64bit area).
I may be willing to put a 64bit version if SUSE 9.3 on
it in order to help troubleshoot this. I have a AGP 8x
6600GT card (working fine under SUSE 9.2/32bit).
Will I run in 64bit long term? Probably not. There are
still many driver incompatibilities with the 64bit kernel.
It's getting better...but VERY slowly. Will certainly
pick up pace when the Redmond folks start promoting 64bit
more.
What will I be losing out by using a 32bit kernel? Very
little. I only have 2G of ram.
