The only time I have problem with KVMs are cheap KVMs that don't include
their own power supply, but use the power from the input keyboards/mice.
I lose so many mice during the transient as a result, because they are
providing power to the cheapy KVM.

Luckily a few of them still have a DC input option, and I head down to
Radio Shack (or whatever electronics store is local, not that Radio
"you've got questions, we've got dumb stares" Shack is my favorite) and
get an AC/DC adapter and drive it on its own power.
