Hi,
Yeah, I have a portable USB 160 GB hardrive and I use it in the same
way as the memory stick. Plug the device in and see if the usb driver
handles it using dmesg. It usually prints out usefull information.
Usually you can just plugin the device and mount it using the entry
created in /dev by the driver.
